Hello Kate - for the sake of others who may be reading your response and be confused, I'll respond to you.

I'm confused as to what tweets you looked at. Perhaps I should have provided some as an example. Here are some of Gascón's (now deleted) controversial tweets in question: https://x.com/kindahagi/status/1884980574865232056?s=46

I see Gascón's tweet about Islam oppressing women...in which she called Muslims a "DEEP DISGUSTING HUMANITY." Furthermore, based on tweets calling Islam an "infection...that urgently needs to be cured," I question how much that other tweet was actually about defending women.

I do not condone language from anyone that oppresses any group, even if it's colored in a way that supports another disenfranchised community. Islam is a religion that includes a wide array of people and ideologies - much like Christianity - and these ideologies will range from being both loving and harmful to others.

But with Gascón's tweets, you have to ask yourself: are we attacking the people, or are we pointing out and criticizing oppressive behavior?

In the meantime, thank you for reading my article.
